Why Did My Brain Make Me Say It

In early December 2023, my client Troika Books approached me about an exciting new publishing project. They are looking to publish the first instalment of what would become their new 'Troika First' poetry collection, a series of anthologies that showcase diverse new voices in the children's poetry scene.

This project offered an opportunity not only to design a title inside and out, but to provide creative direction across the branding of a new ongoing publisher series. Embracing the concept of 'newness', diversity, and the energy of new voices, I opted for a vibrant modern approach based on the juxtaposition of complementary colours. Whilst consistency is maintained throughout the series through a standardised template for the cover design, spine, and internal design, each title will have the opportunity to showcase its individuality through its own unique colour combinations and bespoke graphic illustrations. The result is a dynamic and eye-catching start to an exciting new series.
